Transform Your Diabetes Management From Multiple To Zero Finger Pricks A Day

Transform Your Diabetes Management From Multiple To Zero Finger Pricks A Day

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a growing health problem with a significant global disease burden. Over the last few decades, Singaporeans have been exposed to significant changes in lifestyle, diet, and other environmental influences which rise in diabetes prevalence. Uncontrolled diabetes increases the risk of macrovascular and microvascular complications including atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, ischemic heart disease, stroke, peripheral arterial disease, lower extremity amputations, retinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy.

Introduction of home blood glucose monitoring (BGM) 40 years ago has revolutionized diabetes self-management, providing valuable glucose data that have helped many people with diabetes improve their glycemic management. In the early 2000s, personal continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems also became available. They have become popular and more accurate over the years and are now approved as a viable treatment option for people with diabetes.

Dexcom G6 is a real time CGM, it can continually monitor your interstitial glucose every 5 minutes, giving you real-time updates through a device (sensor) that is attached to your body and transmit the data automatically to a compatible smartphone*. Find out how Dexcom G6 works. There’s no fingersticks and no scanning required. Find out the compatible smartphone list here.

Insulin administration and blood glucose (blood sugar) monitoring have transformed from multiple finger pricks in a day to a quick glance at your smartphone to see where your glucose levels are heading and how fast they’re getting there. With Dexcom G6 CGM, you can see in real time your glucose level’s trend and take preventative measures against hypo and hyperglycemia.
