    IODOSORB removes barriers to healing by its dual action antimicrobial and desloughing properties. The broad spectrum antimicrobial action is provided by the sustained release of iodine and the desloughing action is provided by the unique cadexomer matrix. By effectively removing the barriers of bacteria, slough and debris and excess exudate, IODOSORB is effective for the treatment of infection in chronic exuding wounds. IODOSORB is Non-adherent, it can be removed with saline to help reduce trauma to the patient, and increase patient quality of life.

    IODOFLEX is a sterile dark brown ointment consisting of cadexomer (modified starch microbeads), polyethylene glycol, poloxamer and iodine. The cadexomer beads are biodegradable. IODOFLEX will remove excess exudate and slough from the wound bed, and reduce bacteria at the wound surface. In doing this, it transforms into a soft moist gel. IODOFLEX is indicated for the topical treatment of chronic exuding wounds. IODOFLEX can be used under compression therapy. IODOFLEX may be used on infected wounds.Where the product is used on infected wounds the infection should be inspected and treated as perlocal clinical protocol.

    Product Directions:

    Applying IODOFLEX
    1. Wash hands thoroughly before and after use. Using gloved hands, clean the wound and the surrounding area with either a gentle stream of water or saline. DO NOT DRY the wound surface.
    2. With gloved hands, remove the carrier gauze on one or both sides of the IODOFLEX Pad. Place the pad in contact with the wound surface. Any remaining IODOFLEX should be discarded.
    3. Cover the wound with dry sterile gauze or dressing of choice. Apply compression bandaging where appropriate.

    Changing IODOFLEX
    1. IODOFLEX should be changed three times a week or when all the IODOFLEX has changed in color from brown to yellow/gray.
    2. if necessary, soak the gauze for a few minutes, then remove.
    3. Remove the IODOFLEX with sterile water or saline.
    4. Gently blot any excess fluid, leaving the wound surface slightly moist, before re-applying IODOFLEX. The number of applications should be reduced as the exudate diminishes.
