Frequency of change
During the early stages of treatment inspect the dressing frequently. Dressings can be left in place for up to 7 days, except the sacral area where dressings can be left in place for up to 5 days. Dressings should be changed depending on the condition of the wound and surrounding skin or when exudate covers 75% of the change indicator. Consider changing if the exudate covers more than 50% of the change indicator.
